The modified nitrile tube provides excellent resistance to petroleum-based fluids, hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), and the abrasive wear caused by solid-laden drilling muds.

Reinforcement: Multi-Layer Strength for High Pressure

Our Mud Hose features a robust reinforcement system designed to contain extreme pressures while maintaining flexibility.

  • Multiple Layers: Constructed with alternating layers of textile fabric and high-tensile steel cable
  • Intermediate Rubber Layer: A specially formulated middle rubber layer is placed between each steel cable layer to:
    • Reduce friction between reinforcement layers
    • Enhance flexibility during dynamic service
    • Prevent fatigue and extend hose service life
  • Pressure Containment: The spiral-wound steel cable reinforcement provides exceptional burst strength while accommodating the pulsating flow from reciprocating mud pumps

This construction ensures the hose maintains its integrity under the high-pressure, high-cycle conditions typical of rotary drilling and vibrator service.

  • Type: Factory-swaged couplings – permanently attached using precision hydraulic crimping equipment
  • Full Range Available: We supply a complete selection of end connections to match your drilling equipment:
    • Hammer Unions (Fig 100, Fig 150, Fig 200, Fig 206, etc.)
    • Flanges (various pressure ratings and drilling standards)
    • Hubs (for weld-on or threaded connections)

All couplings are inspected for concentricity, crimp diameter, and retention strength to ensure a leak-proof, long-lasting connection.

  • Application: Can be used as a Motion Compensator Hose to stabilize rotary drilling and pumping equipment against vertical wave action on offshore platforms
  • Benefit: Absorbs heave motion, ensuring continuous mud circulation and reducing mechanical stress on riser and manifold connections
  • Important Restriction: Not recommended for phosphate ester-based hydraulic fluids (check fluid compatibility before installation)
